ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE introduces “HIDENOBU YASUI” as an “incubation” brand from September 4 (Thu).

DESIGNER: Hidenobu Yasui
Hidenobu Yasui entered Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, MA Fashion Womenswear (master’s course) in 2004. After graduating in March 2006, he launched a brand under his own name in London. He came back to Japan in June 2007 to seek high-quality clothing fabrics and sewing techniques in the country, and moved his base to Tokyo. The brand participated in the SPRING SUMMER 2008 AMBIANCE Joint Exhibition for the New Creators in October 2007. In March 2008, the brand showcased its AUTUMN WINTER 2008 Collection in a catwalk format at the Sixth JFW in TOKYO.

From August 7, we introduce T-shirts from "MIKIO SAKABE" and "matohu".

* INDUSTRIAL DOLLS *

A popular doll, for instance the “Licca-chan” doll, has both a sweet appearance and an unnatural, mass-produced aspect. With the use of uniforms worn by company employees, such a state of contradicting values existing simultaneously is expressed in “INDUSTRIAL DOLLS,” the AUTUMN WINTER 2008 Collection by MIKIO SAKABE. The dual nature of uniforms, such as that a design originally intended to deny personal characteristics rather highlights the uniqueness of the inner self, is presented within a worldview unique to the designer.
ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE introduces MIKIO SAKABE as an “incubation” brand from this season.

DESIGNERS: Mikio Sakabe / Shueh Jen Fang
Mikio Sakabe graduated from Hogeschool Antwerpen, Fashion Department, in 2006. Shueh Jen Fang, from Taiwan, met Mikio Sakabe while attending La Cambre art school in Brussels, and came to Japan for the joint launch of the brand “MIKIO SAKABE.” The brand officially participated in and showcased at the AUTUMN WINTER 2007 Paris Collection. In August 2007, the brand showcased at the “New Designers Met in Europe” (JFW) held at the 21_21 Design Sight inside Tokyo Midtown. It will hold a show during the AUTUMN WINTER 2008 Tokyo Fashion Week.

** matohu_KEICHO KOSODE **

The AUTUMN WINTER 2008 Collection by “matohu,” under the season theme of “KEICHO KOSODE,” which is a kimono style that came into popularity by around the end of Keicho Period (1596-1615), expresses rich beauty that can be felt only by touching and wearing.
ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE will introduce it from August 7 (Thu), especially focusing on “nagagi,” which is provided with a wide variety of patterns and materials.

* Mountain Pattern Knit Nagagi * (L)
A range of mountains and piling clouds are expressed with a fine knit pattern in this “nagagi.” Each mountain and cloud has a different knit pattern, expressed in a single sheet of fabric. Foil-printed wool tulle is used for the liner. / ¥97,650

“REFLETS D'UNE GOUTTE – Reflections in a Drop” 2008 Ephemeral Edition, made with the image of a drop of water on a flower petal after rain sliding down towards a water surface, has now been released.
The pure scent representing a drop showing various reflections transforms into a floral and musky aroma, and leaves a poetic scent. Ripples generated by a drop of water on the water surface are expressed like a sculpture on the package.
