** Takahashi Hiroko exhibition BLACK KIMONOS**
Chances to wear a yukata (summer kimono) should increase in the coming season. ELTTOB TEP ISSEY MIYAKE will introduce to you a new form of “wa (Japanese style).”
As a representative of modern Japan, artist Hiroko Takahashi approaches the timeless beauty of “wa,” a tradition handed down through many generations in Japan, in a straightforward manner and expresses her creative verve through novel patterns that are free from the previously established models for kimono. Her kimono products and products for the brand “HIROCOLEDGE,” with whom she works as a designer, will be displayed and sold from June 12 (Thu).
Yukata and Japanese washcloths, wherein the artisan skills in Japan are demonstrated to their fullest, have a modern, geometric design comprised only of circles and straight lines. There are also products such as SLEEVE BAGS, which are made by way of sewing washcloths together.

A bold design composed of black and white circles and straight lines, which comprise the minimalist elements in the conception of Hiroko Takahashi, expresses the “contemporary wa” aesthetic that suits the urban landscape of today. (Not For Sale)
